These photographs are an example of my way of seeing and moving through the world around me.
Sensations, memories and perceptions encountered over time.
Each of them is a threshold, a point where light reveals and hides the essence of a place.
Awai
Ephemeral light… only a reflection.
The color of the blossoms dissolves like an intimate thought,
like wind touching the water before it fades.
Snow unveils the mountains, yet it too will soon withdraw.
Among the cherry trees, Sakuya‑hime seems to appear, silently bringing them into bloom.
All is fleeting, yet true in a single instant, like beauty that cannot be held.
Kochū Ōtorii
Ōmi
The guardian rises from the ancient waters, and the threshold reveals a world that opens only to those who choose to cross it.
Mist and Hope
Dewi Danu, wrapped in veils of mist, drifts upon the lake with her gaze fixed on the horizon, waiting for something only the waters know.
A secret held between mist and waves, perhaps a promise.
The silent gaze of Buddha protects her, as if he already knows the answer to her desire.
Splendour of the Past
In the sacred courtyard of Pura Kehen, the Legong Keraton unfolds as a dance where discipline becomes grace and memory becomes ritual.
At sunset, gestures turn into living heritage — a quiet testimony to the continuity of Balinese culture.
Seedling
From the ancient stone of Ta Som,
from the kbach of an Apsara
it appears in silence.
In its manifesting, the gesture seems almost like a prayer.
Persistence of the stone
Dismantled, forgotten, abandoned.
Time settles between the roots of the spung and upon the stone.
But what is sacred cannot be marred by time,
only suspended, waiting to be brought back to life.
Yuriai no Sora
In the sky where summer and autumn meet, an ancient dance preserves two spirits, the Buddhist one its root and the Shinto one its soul.
It is the time of nostalgia in which the wind runs through the warm days, the rice ears ripen, and the dance completes itself in the passage toward autumn.
Flat Calm at Sunset
Painted by the sunset, the bay sinks into a quiet so
complete it seems to dissolve time itself.
And even as it fades, it remains in your eyes.
