In Asahi City, Toyama Prefecture, there is a place where you can see a unique panorama in Japan.

This landscape is illuminated at night, to allow the Japanese to celebrate hanami, the Japanese custom of watching the cherry trees in bloom. The delicacy and brevity of the cherry blossom are for the Japanese the symbol of fragility, but also of rebirth, of the transience of life.
This very ancient tradition, more than a thousand years old, dates back to the Heian era between the 8th and 12th centuries 794-1185, and is also spoken of in some Japanese texts such as the Kojiki and Man'yōshū.
It is linked to the Japanese concept of mono no aware, a form of pathos in which one feels one participates in the beauty of nature and human life, which in relation to it is like the cherry blossom, ephemeral.
